$2 million is the amount of money that the drag queens of Haus of Flash (Aotearoa New Zealand) are suing Destiny Church for, following numerous alleged attacks by the church on their Rainbow Storytime events. Members of Destiny Church have also been charged with vandalising rainbow pedestrian crossings in Tairāwhiti (Gisborne) and on Karangahape Road in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland). The type on this poster is set in BOUFFONT, a typeface I am developing as an art project in celebration of drag and burlesque culture on Karangahape Road. The voluptuous curled forms of the typeface are inspired by drag performer wigs, winged strokes of bold eyeliner, and historical type references from Karangahape Road strip and drag club signage from the 1970s. This poster and typeface are in support of my friends and fellow performers.
